The Fabulous Group is led by two principle Directors with a wealth of commercial experience;
Mike has over 25 years’ business, financial and corporate experience across a wide range of blue chip & SME companies including Whitbread, Lex Retail, Scholl Consumer Products, Granada and Cash Converters.
He therefore has significant experience in various sectors namely retail, leisure/hospitality, franchising, consumer financial services, consumer goods, & I.T services. He has lead businesses at board level in both strategic and operational management in growth and turnaround situations and also has extensive experience in fund raising, private equity and corporate finance/legal having been involved in transactions with VC's, IPO and other corporate activity.
Mike is a member of CIMA and other bodies and has a wealth of experience across many business disciplines including finance, retail operations, financial services operations, purchasing, property management, customer service, IT, HR, legal compliance & H&S.
Additionally, Mike has supported over 90 SME franchise businesses, guiding them through all aspects of their operations, funding, compliance and strategy, including growth and exit.
He is passionate about business and seeing them grow, develop and succeed with a firm held belief that businesses need to be allowed to be creative and flourish while being built on solid foundations. Businesses need to look forward, plan and execute and that’s what The Fabulous Group brings through it’s range of services.
He is a keen follower of football (no teams mentioned!) and tennis and enjoys travelling and holidays, anywhere hot and sunny.
Scott has over 30 years experience in finance and business. He started out in the dairy business before going on to qualify as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1992 whilst working at Anglian Water. Following various senior financial roles in the distribution and IT industries, where he managed a £13m takeover of a rival company, he became Finance Director of a Granada subsidiary supplying goods and services to the hotel and leisure industry. In 1998, he purchased a practice providing accountant, taxation and professional services to small and medium sized businesses. Over the past 17 years, he has helped numerous clients grow their businesses and maximise their profit potential. In recent years, Scott has developed a strong relationship with a nationwide retail franchise business providing franchisees with a whole range of services and advice to help them plan successfully for the future by using the latest cloud-based technology solutions. He is passionate about helping his clients maximise their potential and achieve their business and personal goals.
Scott has just celebrated his Silver Wedding Anniversary and has two wonderful children, both at university. His daughter is currently in Germany studying German and Business at Mannheim where Scott is keen to develop business opportunities supporting German companies. “One of our most successful exports is accountancy and financial services”, says Scott, “ I believe we can share our success in this country by helping our German friends utilise the technology available”.
Scott is a huge music fan and enjoys seeing live music whenever possible. He also enjoys all sports and works for a number of local charities near his home in Cambridgeshire. “Whilst we all try to succeed in business”, says Scott, “it is important that we always think of others not as fortunate as ourselves and try to make a difference in the world for the little time we have”.
